What happens to your blood sugar after eating?
A single blood sugar value always shows only a snapshot. In everyday life, however, the glucose level changes continuously — depending on what we eat, how much we move, when we sleep and how our metabolism responds individually.
With continuous glucose monitoring, these changes can be made visible over several days.
Personal patterns can thereby be identified and nutritional recommendations can be aligned more closely with your body's actual responses.
Observing metabolism in everyday life
In continuous glucose monitoring, a small sensor is worn on the upper arm. It measures the glucose concentration in the tissue at short intervals and creates a continuous curve from these readings.
This makes it possible to trace how your values change over the course of the day and how your body responds, for example, to different meals, physical activity or longer breaks between meals.
The measurement therefore provides considerably more information than a single laboratory value and can be a valuable basis for individual nutritional and metabolic recommendations.

Not everyone responds to the same meal in the same way. Continuous measurement makes these personal differences visible.

Applying the sensor
A small sensor is applied to the upper arm and remains there for the intended measurement period.
Continuing your everyday life as normal
During the measurement you can largely maintain your normal daily routine. Meals, physical activity and further influencing factors can therefore be observed under realistic conditions.
Evaluating the data together
Typical glucose curves and responses are then considered together. Individual recommendations for nutrition, physical activity and metabolic health can be derived from them.
