Filtering pollutants directly out of the blood
The purpose of blood cleansing is to filter pollutants out of the blood. To achieve this, the blood is guided through a filter system via venous access.
The filter is very fine, so that only particles of a certain size are removed. These include:
Environmental toxins: heavy metals (such as aluminium and titanium), pesticides, organic solvents and microplastic particles.
Inflammatory messengers: pro-inflammatory proteins and mediators such as CRP or TNF-alpha.
Autoimmune factors: malformed autoimmune antibodies, immune complexes and pathogenic proteins.
Lipids and metabolic products: LDL cholesterol, triglycerides, lipoprotein(a) as well as metabolic end products and infection toxins.
Research
A research paper published in 2026 examined which substances can be removed from the bloodstream by therapeutic apheresis.
In 34 patients, LDL cholesterol and lipoprotein(a) as well as the inflammatory markers C-reactive protein and fibrinogen all fell significantly after two-stage plasma filtration.
In addition, two independent laboratories examined various PFAS – long-lived industrial chemicals, which is why they are often referred to as “forever chemicals”. In 14 people, four of the PFAS compounds examined decreased by up to 25 percent immediately after treatment. In a further group of four people, the second laboratory determined average reductions of between 43.5 and 75.8 percent, depending on the compound. The substances concerned were at the same time detectable in the plasma fraction retained by the filter system.
First measurable changes also appeared in the examination of microplastics: polyethylene decreased in all four people examined, polyvinyl chloride in three out of four.
“In the modern world, pollutants are virtually unavoidable. The question is whether a person can cope well with these pollutants – which depends, among other things, on genetics, nutrition and lifestyle. Particularly with certain chronic conditions, I therefore consider therapeutic apheresis.”

Questions
Could inflammatory processes or burdening substances in the blood play a role?
Could a burden of pollutants be behind it?
Could persistent immune reactions be involved?
Could apheresis further reduce my cardiovascular risk?
Can it be established whether my body has been affected as a result?
In order to carry out apheresis, a conversation with a doctor from our team is required in every case. We need to record your case properly and review your medical history and any contraindications before we can schedule the apheresis appointments.
Related areas
Anyone considering therapeutic apheresis is seeking to relieve the body of pollutants. What matters alongside this is a solid, holistic foundation that already helps the body to excrete pollutants as well as possible by natural means.

Nutritional counselling can help to identify and avoid sources of pollutants. Beyond that, the body needs certain nutrients in greater quantities when detoxification processes are to be used more intensively.

Chronic inflammation can give rise to what is known as a leaky gut, that is, a permeable intestine. Put simply, with a leaky gut substances that can harm the body may pass through the intestinal wall and into the blood – the protective function of the intestine is impaired. This is why it forms an important part of the analysis when it comes to detoxification.
