Fascia Therapy

Promoting mobility, reducing tension and moving the body more freely again

Buff Medical Resort · Lake Constance

At a glance

When movement no longer feels free

Fascia run through our entire body. They surround muscles and other structures, transmit forces and play an important role for mobility and body awareness.

One-sided loading, lack of movement, intensive training or longer phases of physical tension can lead individual areas to feel stiff or tense.

With targeted manual techniques, fascia therapy addresses these areas and supports the improvement of mobility and functional movement sequences.

Treating the connective tissue specifically

Fascia are a network of connective tissue that connects muscles, joints and numerous further structures with one another.

In fascia therapy, areas that are conspicuous or particularly tense are first palpated and assessed functionally. Targeted manual techniques, pressure, stretching and mobilisation are then applied.

The treatment can be combined with physiotherapy and active exercises in order to develop mobility and body awareness further, beyond the individual treatment.

What can fascia therapy support?

Mobility

Targeted manual techniques can help restricted movement sequences to be performed more freely again.

Sensation of tension

Areas with increased tissue tension are treated specifically in order to reduce the subjective sensation of tension.

Body awareness

The treatment helps to perceive differences in tension and mobility more consciously.

Recovery

Fascia therapy can be used as a complementary element of training, physiotherapy and physical recovery.

Individually tailored to your body

Assessing mobility

At the beginning, your complaints, your mobility and areas with conspicuous tissue tension are considered.

Treating the fascia specifically

Depending on the findings, different manual pressure, stretching and mobilisation techniques are used.

Integrating movement

Where required, suitable movement or self-directed exercises are added with which you can support the treatment in everyday life or in training.

More freedom of movement in everyday life and in sport

Fascia therapy may be of interest, for example:

  • where muscular sensations of tension are present
  • where mobility is restricted
  • for recurring functional complaints of the musculoskeletal system
  • after high physical or sporting loads
  • as a complement to physiotherapy and individual training
  • as part of a recovery programme
  • if mobility and body awareness are to be improved specifically

Which treatment is useful depends on your individual complaints, your movement findings and your personal goals.
